Sarah Thomas is a Neurosomatic Therapist and President of Bio-Med Therapy LLC. Her approach to patient care is shaped by more than two decades of experience in engineering, physical training, education, health promotion, and hands-on problem solving.
Before becoming a Neurosomatic Therapist, Sarah served 10 years in the United States Coast Guard. Her military experience developed the analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to assess and solve problems that continue to influence her work today.
After leaving the Coast Guard, Sarah continued her career in health and fitness as a Personal Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. Her commitment to fitness led her to compete at the national level in physique competition, earning her Physique Pro Card in 2018.
Sarah’s path to Neurosomatic Therapy began with her own struggle with pain. Following a back injury, she spent six weeks unable to stand up straight, with sitting, standing, walking, and even ordinary daily activities becoming incredibly painful and difficult. A friend referred her to a therapist who worked with her using Neurosomatic Therapy. After that session, Sarah was able to stand upright, touch her toes, and move in ways she had been unable to for weeks. The experience left a lasting impression. Wanting to understand what she could learn to help others as she had been helped, she asked the therapist how she could do the same for others. His answer was Neurosomatic Therapy. Eight months later, Sarah began her formal training, setting her on the path to the work she does today.
That experience continues to influence how Sarah approaches patient care. She understands firsthand how persistent pain can interfere with everyday life, independence, and the activities people want to enjoy. Her goal is to help patients better understand their bodies, improve movement, and work toward greater comfort and function.
Today, Sarah combines her background in engineering, fitness, movement, anatomy, and therapeutic bodywork to provide individualized care for her patients. She continues to expand her knowledge through complementary disciplines, including Mat Pilates, Visceral Manipulation, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), and Advanced Post-Surgical MLD using the Vodder Technique.
